An 18th century Dutch oil and vinegar / cruet set

This Louis Seize oil and vinegar set is made of pewter and still has the original beautiful painting and gilding.

In the center is a pepper caster surrounded by the four original crystal carafes.

The design with pearl rims and garlands is entirely in the Louis Seize style.

These oil and vinegar sets are more often executed in silver.

A lacquered pewter model is much less common.

A similar piece is in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, item number 60-1898.
